Backlinks.
Backlinks are links from other areas on the web back to your website. They show google that you’re a trusted page with domain authority. Building a collection of ‘follow’ as apposed to ‘no follow’ backlinks from high authority domains should be part of your overall SEO strategy.

Content.
Using tools like Semrush we identify what search terms are high volume and relevant to your business. Then crafting high quality content to target those search terms and drive traffic to your site. That content can be created to educate, entertain, and increase page dwell time signalling to google that said traffic has arrived at the right place.

On site technical.
This covers a range of topics from page load speed (Images on your site should be web-size) to internal linking (like backlinks but from area to area within your site to help google ‘crawl’ it). Also using tools like Semrush we can conduct a site audit to determine factors such as broken links (links that go no where will negatively impact your SEO), page load speed, and crawl-ability of your site for google to index.
How does this benefit my business?
I’ll use a case study to show the value of understanding & implementing effective SEO strategies.
A’ from Anchor Wheel Motel reached out recently to take some new photographs for their website. As well as provide a gallery, I identified key areas that could tweak his SEO strategy to significantly increase his web traffic + bookings.
The specifics are as follows.
Total monthly search volume for the terms ‘St Helens accommodation’ and ‘Accommodation St Helens Tasmania’ is 4500 combined (averaged out over the year).
Anchor Wheel Motel’s position on google for these two search terms is 18 and 15 respectively. Both positions are on page 2 of google for said search terms.

With some small tweaks to his site meta-data + SEO page title AWM could very easily rank on page 1 of google for both these search terms.
